Better connections, better understanding, better behaviour project
In partnership with Public Health Leicester, our Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) team have a developed a research informed programme to support schools with the growing mental health challenges being faced by our schools.

The programme is aimed at all Heads/Principals, Senior Leaders and SENCOs at city secondaries and colleges with the aim of providing training and opportunities to discuss and share strategies and best practice in the areas of:
- Mental health and vulnerable groups
- Identifying and understanding trauma and adverse childhood experiences
- Anxiety, low mood and mental health conditions
- Behaviour approaches and de-escalation strategies
- Attachment awareness
- Staff wellbeing when working with challenging pupils
A launch event will take place at City Hall on Thursday 26 October, 2 to 3pm. To confirm your attendance please email zoe.pedersen@leicester.gov.uk by the 5pm Tuesday 24 October.
